Chocolate Chunk Cookies Recipe
Makes approximately 14 cookies
Ingredients
- 100g/4oz butter or margarine, softened (I use butter)
- 100g/4oz light muscavado sugar
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 140g/5oz plain flour
- ½ tsp baking powder
- 85g/3oz porridge oats
- 200g/8oz plain chocolate, chopped into chunks (I use Cadbury's Bournville)
Method
- Preheat the oven to 180oC/Gas 4/160oC fan oven – cook from cold
- Grease two baking sheets (I normally use baking paper too).
- Beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla
- Sift in the flour, baking powder.
- Add the porridge and chocolate.
- Using a dessert spoon, put 14 heaped spoonfuls of the mixture onto the baking sheets and flatten with a fork.
- Bake for about 10-12 minutes.
- Cool on a wire rack.
